tips from top wedding abroad

Question Two:

When planning a wedding for a client who is based abroad, how do you prefer to communicate with them (email, telephone, face-to-face)? Does this vary at different stages of the planning process? Does the method of communication vary depending on the client?

Wedding Planners Answers:

Basically, all can be dealt with via email and phone communication. But this is also the most time consuming. If the couple or one of them is coming over for an inspection trip (2 to 3 days is mostly enough to decide upon 80 % of the suppliers) it is an easy task. Then the couple can see the options for themselves and it is much easier for them to choose.

But work does not always allow the couple to do this, in which case I send as many pictures as I can of previous weddings we have organised. I believe strongly pictures say more than a thousand words.

The method of communication does indeed vary depending on the client. The most common form is undoubtedly email as brides are able to send their thoughts as they occur and the planner has a good written record. I think it is important to meet face to face at least once after you begin planning. You have decided to get married abroad so best to make the most of it and come back for a long weekend!!

Get Married in France

For weddings abroad, we recommend email correspondence as everything is in writing and the clients have all communications on record. We do offer telephone assistance in our services free of charge at any time, prior the booking and during the planning.

We have clients that we have never spoken with on the phone all through the planning and others who we talk with at least once a week. In this case, after each call, we send a brief of what was discussed by email for their records. Other couples may come to visit venues and places prior the wedding. At the end of the day, it all depends what the couple feels more comfortable with and we are happy to offer the adequate method of communication requested within our services.

Email is the best way of communication as this way everything is recorded on paper and if there is some confusion I can look through the old emails to see exactly what the wedding couple want. If some decisions have been made by phone then I have no record of this.

Proceed to Question Three

Do you like to communicate with both the bride and groom, or is it better to have one of them as the main contact? Is it a help or a hindrance if family and friends become involved in the planning?
