From the scenic Garden Route to the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town, which plays hosts too many beautiful wedding venues. Here, you can choose to have your wedding on the majestic Table Mountain, be surrounded by the beauty of the Kirstenbosch Gardens or enjoy the peace and tranquility of one city’s historic wine farms.

Or for the adventurous at heart, you can choice to get married in the bosom of Mother Nature and spend your wedding day on one of South Africa’s many wild life parks. A must in any case for the honeymoon plans!

Many of our friends have chosen to get married abroad and really enjoyed the experience of combining their wedding day with a honeymoon. We choose South Africa as we wanted to get married somewhere different than the normal destinations – South Africa seemed to offer such a choice of things to do and different types of marriage. When we looked at it closely we were pleasantly surprised at just what great value for money South Africa offers.

We got married on a wine farm in the beautiful town of Franschoek just outside Cape Town. We combined some traditional elements such as the service with a South African twist or two and had a fantastic day.

For our honeymoon we saw all the sites in Cape Town then headed off up the garden route, experiencing the beaches, culture and even a bungee jump.

I think our family was a bit shocked when we choose Cape Town for our wedding day. We had been there before on holiday and had a great time and we just could not imagine any better place to get married than on top of the Table Mountain.

It felt like we were stood on the top of the world and the views over Cape Town and out to sea were absolutely amazing.

Our honeymoon included a few days on safari where we saw the big 5 and after this excitement we traveled to Camps Bay which was a great place to relax for a few days before heading off home.
