Wedding in Malta

By having your wedding in Malta you will be provided with a dramatic backdrop for an unforgettable day.

A country of incredible beauty with an extraordinary past, Malta situated at the gates of Africa and the East, 95km south of Sicily, has a typically Mediterranean climate, offering year-round good weather.

Have your wedding in Malta

Malta is the largest of the five Maltese islands, which include the more rural Gozo and Comino, and the uninhabited Kemmunett (Comminotto) and Filfla. Today a member of the Commonwealth countries, Malta gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1964 and in 2004 become a member of the European Union.

A land of natural beauty with stunning scenery, beautiful architecture, warm friendly locals who all speak English, easy flight connections from most European cities and the minimum of red tape for getting married, Malta certainly is an attractive destination for a wedding abroad.

There are a number of tour operators that offer wedding packages to Malta and Gozo but if you are thinking of doing it alone, planning a wedding in Malta can be just as easy as back home and certainly offers great value for money.

You can choose to have either a civil or religious wedding ceremony in Malta. For couples wishing to have a civil ceremony there are some wonderful civil venues to choose from and those couples planning a religious ceremony are able to choose the elegant splendour of Baroque parish churches or the more intimate and secluded countryside chapels.

Malta has an impressive range of luxury five-star hotels, all with their own particular character. Each will be pleased to help arrange all you need to make your special day and honeymoon enjoyable, hassle free and, most importantly, memorable.

Your wedding celebration in Malta can take whatever form you wish, from a dinner in one of Malta’s celebrated al fresco restaurants feasting on local delicacies or international cuisine, to a cocktail party or a lavish reception, the old-fashioned way. Large buffet receptions are very much part of the traditional Maltese wedding. The Islands have a wide selection of experienced, professional caterers who can tailor-make a menu for your party, whatever the size.

If you are looking to have a unique wedding in a stunning location then you should definitely consider having your wedding in Malta.

Real Experiences!

Real Experiences! Here’s why other couples chose to have their wedding in Malta.

We had never been to Malta before but have family members who love going there and other family members who had always wanted to go but never had the opportunity.

Originally we were thinking of getting married in Las Vegas, but knew it would be too far and costly for many family members to travel and they would be upset not to see us marry.

We chose Mellieha as I asked my Mum and Auntie separately which church they liked most on the island and they both said there was a lovely small chapel there that they loved…so that was it!
