Cyprus, situated in the Mediterranean Sea has 330 days of sunshine a year so you are almost guaranteed perfect blue skies should you choose to marry on this beautiful island.

With its stunning coastline, beautiful beaches, historical sights, cobbled villages, flower filled fields, cosy restaurants and lively nightlife there’s something to cater for all tastes – it’s hard to believe that all this could be contained on a single isle.

What could be more romantic than exchanging vows on the ‘island of love’, the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, who is said to have risen from the waves rolling into the beautiful Cypriot coastline.

If you are travelling from the United Kingdom, Cyprus is only a four and a half hour flight from London and the cost of wedding services and packages compare favourably with similar wedding packages to long haul destinations such as The Caribbean.

"It’s extremely easy to organise a wedding in Cyprus, so you won’t necessarily need a co-ordinator. In hindsight we would have saved the money we spent on the wedding co-ordinator and organised it ourselves over the internet.

It is one of the easier countries to get married in, and everything is so relaxed abroad – much more so than at home. If you get the chance to visit before the wedding, then it’s well worth it to see your venues, but it’s by no means necessary. Just get as much info about your venues and suppliers before you go".

Zoe’s Hot Tip! "Don’t forget you’ll need to take affidavits of single status, your full birth certificates and a baptism certificate if you’re having a religious ceremony. Also, deposits and bills need to be paid in local currency, unless you’re booking everything through a hotel or tour operator".
