Unlike many companies, Thailand Weddings was not created to serve the tourist market but to serve local Thai wedding couples and naturally ended up offering weddings to Western couples as well. Their local expertise and the fact they come from the "wedding side" and not the "tour side" means they have a totally different perspective; which shows in how they see and treat weddings.

The "hands on" owner Somchit Srimoon known as "Jit" is a true Chiang Mai native. Jit possesses unique talents which shine through in the wedding industry. Being from a Thai Buddhist family but having attended a Christian School provides Jit with a rare insight and understanding into Christian weddings that few Thai people have.

At the age of 25 Jit started her own business which has evolved and grown into what is now the largest wedding boutique in northern Thailand, still proudly serving mostly Thai couples.

Arranging Destination weddings for Western couples came by chance when a Dutch Lady friend named Hanika asked Jit to arrange a proper Thai Buddhist wedding for her friend's daughter. After this first wedding, word spread and Jit's sevices grew with demand.

Today, Jit still looks after each and every Western wedding personally. Her English fluency assures total ease of communication which is truly important in planning the perfect stress free wedding. Jit says - 

Details are what it is all about. Being able to execute the wedding plans as intended, is key to making the wedding day perfect.

Jit has even opened her "family's tropical hideaway" to be used as the ultimate private romantic wedding venue. It offers total privacy and freedom that few public resorts can. This enables Jit the opportunity to provide her wedding couples with whatever they want whenever they want it, something that is not always possible when working with resorts and hotels where other guests need to be considered. This assures couples a truly exotic private paradise to have as their own, for the perfect wedding. 

From our first day at Chiang Mai Airport to our last picture together as we departed two weeks later, Jit made our wedding in Thailand a more enjoyable and memorable experience than we could have imagined.

We were impressed with the freedom we were given to customize our wedding and Jit's attention to detail was remarkable. She flawlessly orchestrated exactly what we had envisioned - a wedding steeped in authentic Buddhist traditions and customs. She also ensured a complete package.

If you and your fiancée don't want a ticky-tacky tourist wedding, but rather opt for a truly traditional ceremony, we highly recommend Jit and her team of wedding experts. Her professionalism, organizational skills and most importantly her genuine kindness are represented in every detail of the experience.

In addition, Jit helped us organize many of the typical "first time Thailand tourist" events including a day of trekking, elephant rides and river rafting. She also helped us accomplish some aspirations that were not necessarily on the well-worn tourist path. During our stay, she even gave us a friendly call to chat and make sure our overall experience in Thailand was nothing less than enjoyable.

We hope Jit thinks of us as more than just "another satisfied couple," but as personal friends.

One last note, the mountains and manicured grounds at the venue are breathtaking. The photos on the Web site don't do the country venue justice; it must be experienced first-hand.
