Our Positano Wedding

by Gabriel
(California, USA)

Gabriel & Renee, Married April 2007 Positano, Italy

Gabriel & Renee, Married April 2007 Positano, Italy

Where do I start...where do I start...hum! Let's start with these lines...A woman's dream wedding! Unbelievably spectacular! Romantic beyond expectations!  And did I mention the church?  Wow...soooo amazing!

If you are thinking about getting married in Italy I would say, do it.  Because, with me the before, the during and the after wedding experience in Positano was the best thing I ever did in my life.

I currently live in Laguna Niguel, California, and before getting married in Positano my wife and I were thinking about getting married in Laguna Beach, California - not a shabby place either.

Since it's my second go-around at this marriage thing I felt that if we had a ceremony in Laguna Beach nothing would be much different then my last ceremony in Newport Beach, Calfornia.  After all things considered my wife and I decided to make things a bit more exciting.

So I began to research a few places out of the country and ran upon a website called amalfi-wedding-planner.com. It was here that I thought I would check things out and see what steps it would take to get married in Italy.  At Amalfi Wedding Planner I met a gal by the name of Linda Gatto.  She was much a professional as she is a friend.  I had called a few wedding planners in Italy prior to Linda, however for me, she and I clicked from the start. After about a dozen conversations or so with her I gain some confidence and felt that Positano would be the place Renee and I would marry.

What a journey.  Not just the legal stuff, but the journey one goes through to make all things come together.  The paper work in the States. The anticipation.  The flight into Rome.  The Eurostar into Naples.  Going to the American Consulate in Naples.  The drive to Salerno, the drive along the Amalfi coast and meeting everyone that has a part of making your Big Day happen.  It was all awesome!

We also had some friends and family meet us in Positano and for all of them there journey was equally as exciting. When the Big Day finally arrived everything came together perfectly, beginning to end.

The church, the flowers, the reception, the photographer, the music, and even the car.  All perfect.

By the way...none of this would have happened without Linda Gatto.  Thanks, Linda.
