The town of Sighisoara is the most enchanting of all the Transylvanian towns. Its medieval buildings, gilded roofs and towers have been unspoiled by war or modern industry. The Citadel, built by the Saxons in the 12th Century, rises above the town and is preserved as a museum. The notorious Vlad Tepes, popularly called Dracula, was born in this town.

Accommodation
In the middle of Sighisoara Citadel, right at the foot of the Hill, where the 175 steps of the Covered Stair ends, a haughty house invites the traveler to rest, apparently begging him to listen to its story. Long ago, the Fronius family (and old Transylvanian Saxon family) built one of the few houses that were to resist the devastating fire in 1676.





Cultural events
Actors wearing medieval clothes play medieval drama and music for your pleasure. As well, a Romanian folkloric ensemble can teach you some of the most popular Romanian dances, entertaining you and your guests.





Discover History
Apparently protecting the Citadel, the neighborhoods of Sighisoara keep the same degree of beauty. Only a few kilometers away, Malancrav rushes to impress you with mural pictures in Transylvanian gothic dwellings, while Crit delights you with the haughty castle of Bethlen.
