Languages Spoken
Greek & Turkish are the official languages. English is widely spoken. French & German are also spoken within the tourist industry.

Airports
All visitors arriving in Cyprus by air, may enter only through the international airports of:

  • Larnaka
  • Pafos

Banks
Banks in Cyprus open for the public from 08:30 to 13:00. Automatic exchange machines and ATM Machines operate on a 24-hour basis. Certain banks in tourist areas open during the afternoon.


Shopping
In tourist areas, most shops and supermarkets remain open until late in the evenings, and all day on Sunday.

In towns, during Winter (November – March) shops close at 19:00hrs and during Summer (April - October) shops close at 20:30hrs. From 15th of June till 31st of August shops in towns close between 14:00 and 17:00 hrs for the summer afternoon break.


Climate
Cyprus enjoys a wonderful Mediterranean climate. It has long dry summers from mid-May to mid-October and mild winters from December to February.

Cyprus is blessed with an abundant amount of sunshine, even in December and January there is an average six hours of bright sunshine per day.
