Children at a Wedding Abroad

Do you invite children to a wedding abroad?

Inviting children to a wedding is a very personal issue. You will know immediately how you feel about this.

Inviting children to a wedding abroad

You will either be very happy for children to attend your wedding or you would prefer your wedding to be a child free zone.

If you do not wish to have children at your wedding abroad this can be a slightly more controversial than normal.

You cannot expect your guests not to bring their children away with them BUT you can have a say as to whether the children come to your wedding itself.

One of the best ways to tackle this is to organise a babysitter to look after the children on the day of the wedding.

Hot Tip

Hot Tip! Charlotte & Christian wrote the following in their information booklet for their wedding in France.

"Feel free to bring your kids to the blessing but please be aware that Souci is not a very childproof house. For the evening we will arrange for a babysitter/s in a separate room at the Hotel, please let us know if you are bringing your little ones and we can book accordingly".

This is very nicely worded and it states their wishes clearly and inoffensively.

If you are happy to have children at your wedding it is also a very good idea anyway to have a babysitter at your wedding venue.

This will allow the parents to relax and give the children an escape if they become restless or tied.

Ensure you cater for children’s special needs, such as children’s meals and setting aside somewhere they can sleep if they get tied.
