Jo Daye set up Accent Events to showcase her passion for Italy and her organisational talents.

Accent Events are able to secure the most beautiful wedding venues on the Amalfitana coast, the Italian Lakes, Luca, Siena and Rome and organise all aspects of your wedding to make it a truly memorable event.

An independent wedding organiser sees their role as facilitator and communicator in the planning process thus ensuring that they bring the vision of your most romantic day to life.

Many of the couples who opt for an Italian wedding are professional couples in their thirties, forties or fifties who already know what they like and fully appreciate the need of having a professional planner sort out their day.

They hire someone to keep control of their wedding plans not to control it for them. 

The emphasis is always very much on the personal choice of the couple and not just forcing them down a particular route. Accent Events reflect this mode of working by offering the following services:

Bespoke: This service involves taking a high level brief and producing an event specification containing options, budget estimates and supplier profiles, total event management. Accent Events will be your dedicated wedding designer.

Tailored: This service is based on your detailed specification; thereby the recommendations are against the spec. The portfolio will then be handed over to you for you to manage the event.

Viewing itinerary: Accent Events will design an itinerary that will minimise time away but reap maximum benefit so you can view and meet those involved.

Off the cuff: If you just want to find the right cake designer or photographer then that's what we'll do.

Budget: The current economic market is playing yoyo with the exchange rate; Accent Events has a unique approach in to how you can best manage your budget.

With the larger companies you may find yourself channelled in a particular way as it fits their 'partner profile' - i.e. you only get a choice of services from their partners and this can be limiting as quite often you are never told the full story about what could be available to you.

My partner Craig and I decided that we'd like to get married in Italy in Sep '09. Even though we are British citizens living in Australia, I had thought that it might be a relatively straightforward task to organise a simple town hall wedding and villa reception, as we didn't plan to have an elaborate wedding and I quite enjoy making the arrangements myself.

However, there does seem to be a lack of freely available information in Italy in comparison with other countries.

I was very pleased to find Jo at Accent Events who was able to help me with some details of the wedding that were proving tricky to deal with on my own.

As I had a limited budget I really wanted a person who would charge me for each element on an ad hoc basis rather than a blanket wedding planner fee. I found Jo to be extremely helpful and quick to respond to my questions. With the difference in time zones between the UK and Australia, it makes a big difference. She provided exactly the service that I was looking for and I would recommend her to anyone who needs help to arrange their big day"

At the end of 2009 Accent Events added some new locations to its portfolio.

Tuscan treats such as Lucca and Siena and the amazing and majestic city of Rome.

Lucca: There is something very calming about Lucca, no stress just wonderful authentic Italy. Flash Forward star, Joseph Fiennes and his now wife Maria Dolores Dieguez, married here last year.

Siena: I may just have to have a milestone wedding anniversary celebration to enjoy the beauty of this wonderful gem; the honesty of the location is uplifting and not just spiritual, an hot air balloon ride is one way of seeing the amazing terrain.

Rome: It's big, it's beautiful and it has masses to offer all you urban dwellers that could only ever have your wedding in a city location. Fashionistas, Ferraris and fabulous sights.There are some surprise locations within and around Rome that would suit all couples and wedding parties.
