Seeing is Believing!

I absolutely love great wedding photography…and through Weddings Abroad Guide I have the privilege of seeing a lot wedding photographs.

For me, what is clearly evident, is there is a difference between “good” and “great” wedding photography.

I see some wedding photographs and think; “wow, I wish I had been a guest at their wedding abroad” and then I see other photos were...well, I’m just not drawn into the couple’s wedding in the same way.

In actual fact, I’m sure that both weddings were equally amazing but the first photographer has really managed to capture the essence of the couple’s day, the beauty of the location, the emotion - the joy, the laughter, the tears and all the details that went into making that wedding unique, whether it be, the elaborately served food, the best man’s jokes or the brides bouquet.

Whereas the second wedding photographer has photographed the couple in all the scenic places but their photos are a little staged and they don’t really tell the story of their day. They just lack that little something!

If you have chosen to get married abroad, my advice to you is, “please choose a great wedding photographer”. Don’t necessarily just accept the photographer that your travel company or wedding planner uses – make sure you ask to see examples of their work – and if you like them, that’s brilliant but if you don’t search around until you find a photographer that you love.

You don’t know how many people I have heard say “If there was one thing I would do differently about my wedding, it would be to choose a different photographer”. Please don’t make the same mistake!
